Portrait

I grew up in a small town called Hilo, on the Big Island of Hawaii.

At the age of 6, my kindergarten teacher asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, to which I replied, "A butter churn."

I guess you could say that I was special, but I was just a kid who liked to ask, “what if?”

My lactose intolerance thwarted my dairy aspirations, letting my love for drawing and art bubble to the surface.

In 2007, I graduated from a small art and design college in Washington State. I cut my teeth at Hornall Anderson (now Sid Lee) in Seattle, where my first packaging project landed me the winning direction for Microsoft Office—produced and marketed worldwide. I also worked on projects for T-Mobile, Pedigree, FritoLay, and craft beer brands.

I joined Stanley Hainsworth’s Tether a few years later. I was a design lead on a global Pepsi brand refresh: a 2-year long project that included logo explorations, brand architecture, packaging, new bottle shape, and branded environments. I also launched a healthy fast-casual restaurant concept. My other projects included Gatorade, Virgin, Caffe Umbria, Tatcha, Starbucks, Mohawk, Spectrum Dance Theatre, and Nordstrom.

In 2012, I moved to New York, where I worked at boutique branding agency Carbone Smolan (now 50k). My work for Credit Suisse included a global brand refresh and a worldwide recruiting campaign.

My love for architecture and interior design led me to REA, where I helped lead a studio of 20. My work encompassed commercial, residential, retail, mixed-use, and placemaking projects along the east coast. I partnered with JBG Smith to win the bid for Amazon’s HQ2 and collaborated with Weller Development + Plank Industries to reshape Baltimore’s waterfront through their work at Port Covington, a 235-acre master-planned redevelopment.

In 2019, my interest in advertising brought me to Anomaly, where under the guidance and mentorship of Kevin Lyons, I have helped lead and mentor a design team of 15. My projects include branding, innovation, and campaign work. I have had the privilege to collaborate with Coke, Petco, Denny's, Airtable, Converse, Panera, SC Johnson, Diageo, and Edgewell.
